Andrew, one of the UK’s leading experts on cider and cider making, will lead us through a tasting of 8 ciders from across the UK while also telling us about the origins of the apple fruit, cider and the history and process involved in cider making. Bread and cheese will be available to enhance the tasting experience and Brightwell Apple Juice and soft drinks will be available for any ‘designated drivers’.

In the last decade there has been a resurgence in interest in and production of UK's, particularly fine ciders, and now there are a vast range on the market. To guide us through some of these, Andrew will introduce us to two local ciders, two which are nationally available, and finish with four ‘high-end’, fine ciders. We’ll leave you to decide which you prefer and why!

Andrew is a retired food scientist by profession, has his own cider orchard on the edge of The Clumps in Little Wittenham, and has authored the definitive book on craft cider titled ‘Craft Cider Making’ which we highly recommend.

Tickets £15 per person tasting 8 ciders with cheeses and bread at the interval.
