Phil Mercer from
Radio Oxford visited the orchard last week to record an interview for the Howard Bentham morning show. If you missed it go to the Radio Oxford website and listen again.
www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03qdhp5 - the interview starts at 48:19 and ends at 53:35.
The reason for the interview was to promote the work of TOE2 - the Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment and their funding profile. Invited along were Sustainable Blewbury orchard project members, John Ogden and Eric Eisenhandler, to talk about the funding they have received from TOE2. They plan to plant a community orchard on parish land in the heart of the village this autumn. Just like Brightwell cum Sotwell, Blewbury used to be full of orchards growing top fruit for local and London markets and this new orchard will continue fruit growing for generations to come.
