Come and find out more about the Community Orchard at our stand at the Village Fete on Saturday 5 July.
There will be
displays of the site showing exactly where the site is in the village.
- Do your children play in the wild wood?
- Do you have an allotment? The Community Orchard will be slotted in between the too.
Take a look at the
list of 35 heritage varieties that will be planted in the orchard.
- Do you remember any of these from your youth?
- Do you have a favourite apple? Find out from the list of heritage varieties if your apple will be planted.
We have a
great collection of maps showing where all the orchards were in the village in the past 120 years.
- Was there one where you live?
Did you know
the school have their own orchard? Five trees were planted in the school playground by Paul Chilton in 2010. Each of the classes have been named after the five apple trees - Worcester, Bramley, Pippin, Discovery and Spartan.
- Was your child there to help with the planting?
And of course we will be selling the
Brightwell Orchards apple juice. Taste before you buy £2.50 per bottle.
